Licence
Elastic License 2.0. Licensor: modootoday. This page is a summary; the licence itself is what governs.
What it permits
- Using it inside your own company, on any scale.
- Embedding it in a product you sell.
- Modifying it, forking it, redistributing it with the notices intact.
What it does not
- Offering this software to third parties as a hosted or managed service.
- Circumventing licence key functionality.
- Removing or obscuring the notices.
This is not an OSI open source licence
Plenty of organisations have a policy that only allows OSI licences. If yours is one of them, that rules envs out, and the comparison page names what to use instead.
Patents
The licence carries an explicit patent grant and a retaliation clause: asserting patent claims that this software infringes ends your patent licence immediately. Permissive licences like MIT and BSD-3-Clause contain no patent text at all.
